Rhubard and apple crumble

A favourite in every household – Here's a way to make it even healthier. A Benecol and Hairy Bikers recipe.

    plain flour
  • 50g
    Buttery Taste Spread
  • 25g
    rolled oats
  • 15g
    chopped almonds
  • 25g
    light brown sugar
  • 200g
    rhubarb cut in 10cm pieces
  • 350g
    eating apples peeled,cored, chopped
  1. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 6/200ºC/fan oven 180ºC.
  2. Place the flour in a mixing bowl and rub in the Benecol® Buttery Spread until it resembles bread crumbs.
  3. Stir in the oats, almonds and 25g of the sugar.
  4. Place the fruit in a 1 litre ovenproof dish and scatter over the crumble mixture.
  5. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the fruit is soft and the top golden.
